Recorded January into February 2014.

First mix on my new computer! Ok, technically I did start it on my old computer, but I did most of the work with my new setup. It's SO nice to have as many instruments open as I want without any timing issues.

Here we have Jody Watley (Love her!) covering "I Want Your Love", the Chic (Love them!) classic. The arrangement is base on Steely Dan’s (Love them too!) "Peg" . I had been on a Steely Dan kick when I was deciding on my next mix, so when I heard Jody sing the word "peg" in this song ("on your ladder, I'll be a peg"), it hit me (sorta like Melanie Griffith in Working Girl)!

In the chorus, the original melody is being sung (with some variances) over the harmonic progression of "Peg" while melodic references of the Steely Dan song are going on. I hope it's not too confusing, but the chorus does change depending what part has your attention.

I'm a huge fan of Jody Watley, Steely Dan and Chic. Glad to see that they continue to make good music!
